QDCC Service Awards!
March 2009
At the season end awards banquet on March 28th, 2009, Qualicum and District Curling Club honoured its members who had made outstanding contributions to the club. These service awards bestow the highest honours to members who have made a difference in our club over the years (Kay Holme), or who have embraced the true spirit of curling (Spirit of Curling), or, in the case of the Shining Star award, have made significant contributions in the past season. As well, QDCC awards 'most improved' honours to enthusiatic and deserving juniors who's skills have come a long way. Also, QDCC and Curl BC join together to award special honours to club volunteers and sponsors who have made outstanding contributions to our club.
Recipients of these awards are carefully and painstakingly chosen from ballots entered by peers of the recipients. Eileen Leachman presented each award and her speeches for each of this year's recipients are listed below:
