QDCC Junior Programs

Qualcim & District Curling Club believes in its juniors!

Although our demographics makes keeping a junior program full,  we understand the importance of a well established junior program. Educating and training our juniors is providing for the future of the sport. Many of our members have completed the Youth Coach program as well as various levels of Club Coach training through Curl BC.

We have put a great deal of emphasis on training volunteers to teach curling in order that we can provide the most current methods and the highest level of quality education for all of our programs for novices and juniors.

We encourage parent involvement - this is a great way to spend time with your kids and learn a new skill together! If you want your children (and yoursleves) to be taught correctly, using the most current techniques for fun, safety and skill, come to Qualicum!

2008 School Program Rocks!

Elementary School Curling Program

Over 45 grade five students from Qualicum Beach Elementary School participated in our school curling program in November and December. For three consecutive Fridays, QBES teachers Ms. Bobbi Coleman and Mr. Robert Boates marched their students to the curling club where they received two hours of curling instruction and games. The children were enthusiastic balls of energy as they eagerly answered questions and participated in “candy drills” and games. Lynne Noble, Irene Creally, Sandy Braithwaite, Liz Hendricks and Karen Forster organized the instruction and many parents helped supervise the children.
